I have been a teacher at FDC Preschool for 21 years, also serving as Director of the preschool the past 12 years. Along with having my Nursery/Kindergarten certificate, I also have a BS in Health & Phys. Ed. and a MS in Elementary Education. By far, my most enjoyable and creative years of teaching have been with preschool children! My husband and I have five children ages 18-29 years old, one labrador retriever named Molly, a cat named Patrick, & a lizard named Gary! I have lived in Marshall Township for 50 years and feel blessed to have a job working with such great families and their children.
I have been part of the FDC family for the past 18 years teaching in both the three and four year old programs. I hold a degree in Elementary Education and previously taught both fourth and fifth grade in Columbus, Ohio. After relocating back to my hometown, Cranberry Township, I was asked to aide in the Kindergarten program at St. Alphonsus. There, I spent many years volunteering in a variety of areas. I was hired in 2003 to begin a preschool program at A Kid’s Place in Cranberry Township and shortly thereafter was offered a job at FDC.
I absolutely love working at the Family Development Center! Each day is a new adventure and real joy helping to facilitate your child's growth and development.
I reside in Cranberry Township with my husband Andy. We have four children, Drew, Haley, Madison, and Ian.
I am thrilled to have joined the FDC family this year and am loving my mornings with all of the children in both the 3’s and the 4’s programs! I was raised in this little church, so being back feels like coming home.
I received my undergrad in elementary education from Clarion University and later went to Slippery Rock to earn my masters in education. I spent 4 years at Avonworth Elementary teaching grades 1-3 and in 1998 I followed my husband to Florida where he began working in the field to further his engineering career. I taught one additional year while living in Florida as a second grade teacher. Four states, 4 children and 15 years later we finally settled back in Wexford, PA. I am happily married to my high school sweet heart, Mark. Together with our 4 children, Madison, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Jacqueline, we live a happy and blessed life. My passion and talents center around art, music, gardening and riding horses.
After 22 years as a stay at home mom I am thankful to be back in a classroom setting where I can rediscover my love of teaching and giveback to the community that has been so gracious to me.
Hello! My name is Amber, and I am very excited to join the Preschool Team at FDC! I graduated from Clarion University with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Shortly after, I moved to Greensboro, NC where I taught fourth grade for a year before moving back home to PA to get married and start our own family! My husband Scott and I have 2 teenage daughters, Makenna and Elena, and a silly pup named Koda. I took some time off to raise my own kiddos but as they got into school, I subbed, worked as a paraprofessional, at daycares, helped out with children’s church, AWANA, and VBS’s. My next adventure is PRESCHOOL! I can't wait to meet you and your children!
This is my first year teaching at FDC, but I have always had a heart for “little ones”. I have taught in the early childhood field for a good part of the last 27 years! Most recently, I worked at Ingomar Child Development Center and Preschool. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in education from Geneva College. My husband John and I live in Ohio Twp and have three “grown” children (all in their 20’s); Kirsten, Alaina, and Ben. We also have 2 dogs and a cat. I love art, music, reading, riding my bike, and traveling : ) I am thrilled to be part of the wonderful team at FDC and look forward to a fun-filled and fantastic year with the 3’s and 4’s classes!
Bio coming soon...
I began working as an aide at FDC after my son completed three years there in 2013. I started in the PreK class and now am lucky to help out with the 3’s, 4’s and PreK. I have lived in Marshall Township for 14 years with my husband, my son, my daughter and our Whoodle, Winston. My favorite thing to do is watch my kids play the sports they love. I am blessed to be able to work with such wonderful teachers, families and their lovely kids at FDC.
